About the Opportunity

Foremost is looking for an experienced Welder to join their teams in Stettler, AB.

The responsibilities of the Welder will include production welding, service and repair welding, prototype building, and fitter welding. Specifically, this will involve the fabrication of custom prototypes from supplied drawings to produce production parts that meet customer specifications, as well as the fabrication of metal structures in a high-paced production environment.

You will:

  • Operate manual or semi-automatic welding: gas metal arc welding (GMAW), flux-cored arc welding (FCAW), shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), oxy-acetylene welding (OAW), and resistance welding;
  • Operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment, brazing and soldering equipment and metal shaping machines;
  • Monitor parts usage and report on any material issues;
  • Assist in training, directing and supervising junior employees and apprentices, inspecting and certifying their work;
  • Review blueprints and specifications;
  • Ensure accuracy and completion of assigned tasks and projects.

This position will suit an applicant who has their Inter-provincial Red Seal or CWB tickets along with:

  • Valid welding certification, Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW), Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), certified in all positions;
  • A high school diploma, GED or equivalent;
  • A strong work ethic and the ability to work in a team environment;
  • The capacity to read and interpret blueprints or welding process specifications.
